Lea Moeller
Cayo Provisions is the brainchild of Lea Moeller. Lea has traveled a winding path to discover her true calling. Her professional journey has taken her from the halls of Congress as an aide, to the creative chaos of film editing, and even the discipline of teaching yoga. But it was a seemingly chance opportunity during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic that transformed her career—and her vision for the future.
Far from her beloved Key West, Lea found herself in the unfamiliar landscapes of New England. Uprooted from her home and career, she took a job at a local wine and cheese shop, stepping into a world she had never explored before. What started as a practical decision quickly evolved into a passion. Trained as a cheesemonger, Lea immersed herself in the stories behind every product she handled: the origins of each wine, the craft behind every wheel of cheese, and the artistry of small-batch olive oils. It wasn’t just about selling; it was about storytelling and connection.
Soon Lea assisted the shop’s wine buyer with marketing, honing her ability to communicate the essence of each product through compelling copy. These experiences ignited a love for the industry and a vision for what could be.
Returning to Key West, Lea brought with her a dream of creating a space where her community could savor the same sense of discovery and celebration she had found. Lea hopes to one day own a brick and mortar shop with a focus on wine education. Until her doors are open, we have Cayo Provisions Wine School.
Lea has passed the WSET level 2 certification with distinction and is a trained cheesemonger.
